LONDON (ChurchMilitant.com) – The United Kingdom’s far-left Labour Party is reportedly promising stricter punishments for individuals opposing trans ideology.

Daily Mail reported over the weekend that the political party is promising — if elected — to have “misgendering” labeled an “aggravated offense,” a crime that could lead to prison time.
The media outlet reported, “This would bring transphobic abuse into line with assault and harassment motivated by hatred on the grounds of race or religion, which are punishable by up to two years in prison.”
Anneliese Dodds, Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, proclaimed, “The Conservatives are failing to protect LGBT+ people with their inability to get a handle on hate crime, including violent hate crime.”
“Labour will strengthen the law to ensure the perpetrators of anti-LGBT+ hate can no longer dodge longer sentences. And our fully funded plan to recruit 13,000 more neighborhood police and community support officers would increase safety for everyone,” she continued.
Already, U.K. citizens are being arrested for alleged “hate crimes” against so-called trans people. Last year, David McConnell, a Christian preacher, was ordered to do 12 months of community service for leaving Farrah Munir — a man pretending to be a woman — “emotionally distraught” after the two argued in Leeds during McConnell’s street preaching. McConnell’s conviction was later overturned.
A self-described “radical feminist” was also arrested for going on social media and referring to a trans activist as a “pig in a wig.” Kate Scottow was convicted of “malicious communications,” but the ruling was overturned with the appeals judge calling it “a grossly disproportionate and entirely unjustified state interference with free speech.”
