Homeland Is Anything But Secure — By: Church Militant

WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) – The Biden administration has failed to deport over 99% of all the illegal aliens who have been released into the country since the president took office.

Jim Jordan and Alejandro Mayorkas

Between Jan. 20, 2021, and March 31, 2023, the Department of Homeland Security released at least 2,148,738 illegal aliens into the United States. Of that number, only 5,993 were actually deported.

These numbers come from a lengthy report released last month by the House Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, titled “The Biden Border Crisis: New Data and Testimony Show How the Biden Administration Opened the Southwest Border and Abandoned Interior Immigration Enforcement.”

The chaotic surge of illegal immigrants at the southern border makes exact documentation hard to come by, but the report estimates that “more than 1.7 million known ‘gotaways’ [illegal immigrants who’ve entered the country but who’ve not been caught] have evaded Border Patrol since January 2021,” with “untold numbers of unknown ‘gotaways’ avoiding detection during that period.”

News Report: Immigration Tsunami Imminent

This information contradicts the assertions of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that the southwest border is closed, and illegal aliens are removed from the country quickly.

He has consistently maintained throughout his tenure that the border is secure:

In March 2021, he insisted the border was closed amid a migrant surge.
In May 2022, which registered more than 241,000 crossings, he claimed, “The border is not open.”
In April 2022, he declared, “The border is secure.” That same month included nearly 212,000 crossings.
In May 2022, he asserted, “Our borders are not open.” During that month, another 206,000 illegal immigrants crossed.
In January 2023, he again insisted the border was closed while 157,000 people crossed into the nation.

Many are questioning the purpose of the DHS, created by former President George W. Bush after 9/11 to safeguard the nation. According to its mission statement, its duties include guarding the United States against terrorism, securing U.S. borders and enforcing immigration laws.
